Tillerson: the United States wants to take “more stringent measures” against the DPRK
WASHINGTON, 5 Dec — RIA Novosti. The United States strongly condemns the launch of an Intercontinental ballistic missile of the DPRK and intend to take more stringent measures against the country on the platform of the UN security Council, said U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson.
“The United States strongly condemns the launch by North Korea of an Intercontinental ballistic missile. Test ICBMs represents a new escalation of the threat to the United States, our allies and partners in the region and in the world” — reads the statement of the Secretary of state.
According to him, to stop the “global threat” required a “global action”. While Tillerson noted that countries that have been receiving workers from North Korea, providing economic or military assistance and failed to comply with UN security Council resolution, “aiding and abetting dangerous regime.”
“We intend to bring the provocative actions of North Korea to the UN Security Council to take more stringent measures for ensuring accountability of the DPRK,” said the Secretary.
“The United States is committed only to the peaceful denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and stop threatening action by North Korea. But we, along with other (countries) have made it clear that he will never accept the presence of nuclear weapons in North Korea,” — said Tillerson.
