Yavlinsky elected an honorary Vice President of Liberal international

The founder of the political party “Yabloko” Grigory Yavlinsky elected an honorary Vice President of Liberal international. On Tuesday, may 23, reported on the website of the party.

The decision was made to commemorative the 70th Congress, which was held in Andorra, the report said.

It is noted that the participants of the Congress also adopted a new version of main policy document of the organization — Liberal Manifesto, which Yavlinsky took an active part.

In late March, Yavlinsky, announced plans to participate in the presidential campaign, urged to change the electoral law. In particular, it is suggested to develop a new format for “sustained and meaningful” television debates, and be required to participate in all candidates.

Liberal international (Liberal International) was founded in 1947. It is an international political organization with headquarters in London, bringing together more than 100 liberal political parties and movements from over 90 countries. The party “Yabloko” has become its full member in March 2002. In 2004, Yavlinsky became a laureate of the Liberal international established the “prize of freedom” for outstanding contribution to the protection of the rights and freedoms of the individual.
