The head of the faction “United Russia” in the state Duma Vladimir Vasilev considers unacceptable blackmail of deputies. He commented on the statement by the Deputy General Director of the Russian branch of Transparency International Elias Shumanova, announced an investigation against the Deputy of Natalia Polonskaya.
“Such remarks of the representative of the government, which takes their powers, is absolutely unacceptable, and can be regarded as blackmail”, — said Vasilyev.
According to him, if the Deputy sees that the activities of any organization, he has the right to initiate an investigation, it’s his powers that are protected by law.
“As representatives of foreign organizations would be well first to study Russian law and with respect to him,” said Vasilyev, stressing that such statements could be interpreted as threats against the policy.
