The first platoon of the environmental cleanup of the defense Ministry flew to the Arctic areas
Moscow. May 20. INTERFAX.RU the Ministry of defence has started shipping in the Arctic units for the environmental cleanup of the Arctic, told reporters Deputy defense Minister army General Dmitry Bulgakov.
“The first platoon formed in the Central military district for the environmental cleanup of lands of the Ministry of defense in the Arctic zone, flew today in Norilsk,” — said Bulgakov.
On Monday, may 22, is planned to send a detachment of the 94 soldiers of the 12th Main Directorate of the defense Ministry for the environmental cleanup of the Novaya Zemlya Archipelago.
Sending platoons, defense environmental cleanup will be completed in early June 2017. Platoons of the Eastern military district on Wrangel island and the Northern fleet on the island of Kotelny Islands and Kildin will take off later, in early June, due to the fact that on the Islands where they will perform the work, still snow, — said the Deputy head of the military Department.
This year the event environmental cleanup site military units, garrisons, military polygons of the Arctic zone are conducted on the Novaya Zemlya archipelago and the archipelago of the Novosibirsk Islands and also at other sites in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation.
All platoons have to collect more than 3.9 thousand tons of scrap metal.
In the period from 1 June to 1 October 2016 forces platoons collected more than six thousand tons of scrap metal and exported to the mainland 4 thousand 778 T.
