Milonov has proposed to introduce criminal liability for illegal mages

For illegal traditional medicine and the implementation of occult and magical activities it is proposed to establish criminal responsibility. The corresponding bill in the state Duma introduced Deputy Vitaly Milonov, according to RIA Novosti.

“According to statistics contained in a study of RAMS, 95 percent of traditional healers have no medical training, and more than 40 percent of them are in need of treatment of mental disorders. However, many such activities are engaged in without obtaining special permission,” explained the necessity of the bill the Deputy. He added that it often happens that the citizens, the wizards and witches involved in the fraudulent scheme, because of which their clients lose property and money.

According to the document, if the activities of persons involved in folk medicine or magic activity without statutory permission, inadvertently cause harm to human health or property damage on a large scale, they proposed to punish by imprisonment or forced labor for up to three years or a fine of up to 120 thousand rubles.

For the same acts which entailed by negligence human death or causing property damage in especially large size is offered to establish punishment as compulsory works for the term up to five years or imprisonment for the same term.

In February, the Deputy of legislative Assembly of Leningrad region Vladimir Petrov was going to submit for consideration colleagues the bill regulating the activities of witches and sorcerers. The MP planned to oblige the people with superpowers, to license their activities and to be responsible for its quality.

In June 2016 Milonov has proposed to ban the TV program the mystic and occult content. In his opinion, they contribute to the emergence of the country sectarian movements and stimulate the growth of extremism in society.
