India refused to participate in the forum of “One belt and one road” in China

Official representatives of India are not present at the Beijing forum on “One belt and one road”, reports The Times Of India.

India refused to participate in the summit as one of its major projects is the China-Pakistan economic corridor.

“No country would adopt the draft, which ignores the most important issues concerning its sovereignty and territorial integrity”, — said the official representative of the foreign Ministry of India, Gopal Baglay. The diplomat also urged Beijing to engage in constructive dialogue on this issue.

According to the publication, despite the absence on the forum of the official delegation of India, with the participation of several Indian scientists.

China-Pakistan economic corridor is one of the parts of the Chinese silk road — network of roads and Railways, sea lanes and pipelines through Europe, Africa and Asia that connect different points of the world with China. The corridor will link the Pakistani southwestern port city of Gwadar with China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous region. It is planned that part of the corridor will pass through land that is the subject of a territorial dispute between India and Pakistan.
