The growing threat of terrorist use in Russia of toxic substances, it is necessary to develop system of preventive measures. As reported by RIA Novosti, said the assistant of the Secretary of security Council of Russia Alexey Pavlov.
“Numerous facts of use of toxic substances and highly toxic chemicals international terrorist groups indicate an increasing threat of use of chemical and toxic substances for terrorist purposes on the territory of the Russian Federation”, — he said.
According to him, it makes relevant the question of the elaboration of preventive measures aimed at detection, prevention and suppression of access of terrorists to nuclear, radioactive, chemical and biological materials.
In December 2016, the police service of the European Union announced the availability of high-risk chemical attacks in Europe by terrorists “Islamic state”.
In February 2016, the Moroccan security services arrest members of the radical extremist cells seized chemical warfare agents Libyan origin who had planned to use for terrorist purposes.
