Putin discussed with Abbas the settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict

SOCHI, may 11. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to discuss the settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and a number of Russian-Palestinian relations.

“Let me heartily welcome You in Russia, – Putin said. – I’m happy to meet, relations with Palestine are to us a special character and are of particular importance”. He recalled that during the opening ceremony of the multifunctional cultural centre in Bethlehem, the two sides talked about the deep rooted relations between the two countries.

“And in the recent history of our relationship was always very warm and trusting, – Putin said, thanking his counterpart for the attention he attaches to bilateral relations, for the support of compatriots. – For many years we are working together on one of the key themes of the modern world over the settlement of the middle East and, of course, we always have something to talk about”. The Russian leader also expressed confidence that the visit of Abbas to Russia will bring results.
