Russia offered the UN security Council to adopt a resolution in support of creating areas of de-escalation in Syria, agreement on which was reached in Astana. About it RIA Novosti said a source in the Russian permanent mission to the world organization.

The draft resolution welcomes the signing on 4 may in Astana the Memorandum calls on all parties to respect the cease-fire established in the country at the end of December 2016, and also calls upon States to facilitate the implementation of the Memorandum on the establishment of a de-escalation.
Memorandum on the establishment of a de-escalation signed in Astana on may 4, countries-guarantors of a ceasefire in Syria (Russia, Turkey, Iran).
