Russia introduced to the UN security Council a draft resolution on the support zones of de-escalation in Syria

Russia offered the UN security Council to adopt a resolution in support of creating areas of de-escalation in Syria, agreement on which was reached in Astana. About it RIA Novosti said a source in the Russian permanent mission to the world organization.

According to the interlocutor Agency, the draft document was submitted to the UN security Council.

The draft resolution welcomes the signing on 4 may in Astana the Memorandum calls on all parties to respect the cease-fire established in the country at the end of December 2016, and also calls upon States to facilitate the implementation of the Memorandum on the establishment of a de-escalation.

Memorandum on the establishment of a de-escalation signed in Astana on may 4, countries-guarantors of a ceasefire in Syria (Russia, Turkey, Iran). It is expected to create four zones in Idlib province, in the territories of Latakia, Aleppo and Hama; in the North of HOMS province; in Eastern ghouta, on the South of Syria — the provinces of Deraa and Quneitra.
