The arbitration court in Moscow rejected the International centre of the Roerichs, demanding to cancel the decision of the Ministry of culture of Russia to revoke the distribution certificate for the film “Call of cosmic evolution” produced by ICR. “Having heard the parties’ arguments, the court denied the center of the Roerichs in his requirements for the Ministry”, — said there.
The dispute between the ICR and the Ministry of culture started in August last year, when the Agency revoked the rental license for “the Call of cosmic evolution” by reason of use in the painting of Nazi symbols. Despite the withdrawal of the authorisation, the center does not have stopped selling copies of the film in its outlets, for which he was fined. The decision on the penalty he appealed to the Khamovnichesky district court of the capital, and the government’s decision to revoke distribution certificate in arbitration.
The Ministry of culture believes that “the Call of cosmic evolution” is the propaganda of the religious movement of new age. According to officials, the author of the film Ludmila Shaposhnikova leads to the idea of confrontation between the supporters of the “new”, embodying the “light” carried by the ICR, and “darkness”, which refers to the authorities, Federal museums and the Church.
