The protests of the Japanese side associated with Russia’s plans to place the division in the Kuril Islands, do not contribute to the development of Russian-Japanese dialogue, said the head of the Federation Council Committee on international Affairs Konstantin Kosachev, RIA “Novosti”.
“Funeral protests did not bring any new elements in the already complicated Russian-Japanese dialogue. Grounds for a protest no — neither legal nor political”, – he said.
He also noted that the Russian leadership is focused on ensuring the security of the country given the actions of other regional powers, “are not always clear and not always predictable.”
Earlier it was reported that Japan had condemned the deployment of Russian divisions in the Kuriles.
