The Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov urged an end to military intervention in the Affairs of sovereign States and change unwanted regimes. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

The Minister noted that the reduction in the number of refugees and displaced persons depends not only and not so much from the work of the UN, but from the efforts of the entire international community to eliminate the causes of the processes of mass displacement.

“This means ending any military intervention in the internal Affairs of sovereign States, stop trying to impose their own rules, to change the regimes for geopolitical reasons, completely ignoring the will of the people,” said Lavrov at the meeting with UN high Commissioner for refugees Filippo Grandi.

In turn, Grandi noted that Russia is for the UN as a key partner, and also thanked for the placement of Ukrainian refugees.
