The Pentagon recalled about legal restrictions of military cooperation with Russia

Moscow. 21 Feb. INTERFAX.RU — Military cooperation between Russia and the United States are still suspended, it was enshrined in legislation in the country, said to “Interfax” the representative of the Pentagon Michel Baldanza.
“The defense Ministry has suspended military cooperation with the Russian armed forces after the illegal actions of Russia’s annexation of Crimea, and this limitation is spelled out legally in the framework of the law on the powers of the national defence (National Defense Authorization Act),” said Baldanza, commenting on statement of Russian defense Minister Sergey Shoygu about the possibility of cooperation between the military of the Russian Federation and the United States for the liberation of Raqqa.
According to the representative of the military Department, the United States and Russia continue to cooperate “on a limited number of issues, such as security operations for deployed forces.”
“Periodic telephone contacts on the safety of the flights over Syria are an example of such dynamics,” — said Baldanza.
