Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov commented on the decision of the Supreme court in the case of opposition activist Ildar Dading. On Wednesday, February 22, the correspondent “reports Tapes.ru”.

“This decision of the Supreme court, and we must respect any decision of the court, especially the Supreme”, — said Peskov.

Earlier in the day, the Presidium of the Russian Supreme court overturned the convictions against the Dading and released him from custody. The decision was revised on the orders of the constitutional court.

The activist was serving his sentence in IK-5 in Altai Krai, where he was transferred in January from colony No. 7 in Segezha. At the request of the Federal penitentiary service, this was done for personal security of the convicted person. In November 2016 Dading complained about the beatings in the IR-7, but the check conducted by the regional Investigation Committee of the violations of the rights of opposition was revealed.

Dading became the first convicted for multiple violations at rallies. He was found guilty on four counts of participation in uncoordinated protests and sentenced to three years in a General regime colony. In March 2016, his term was reduced to 2.5 years of imprisonment.
