Permanent representative of Ukraine declared in the UN security Council a minute of silence in memory of Churkin

Permanent representative of Ukraine to the United Nations Volodymyr Yelchenko has opened a Security Council meeting with a moment of silence in memory of the Russian diplomat Vitaly Churkin said, RIA Novosti reported.


 


“As the President of the Security Council, I propose to hold a minute of silence in connection with the death of the permanent representative of Russia Vitaly Churkin,” – said Yelchenko.


 


Russia’s permanent representative to the UN Vitaly Churkin died February 20 in new York. Russian President Vladimir Putin decided Churkin posthumously award the order of Courage.
