MOSCOW, February 20. /TASS/. The decree of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin on the recognition of documents proclaimed Luhansk and Donetsk national republics (LNR and DND) are fully consistent with international law. This was stated in the Russian dipvedomstva.
“The Russian Federation proceeds primarily from considerations of humanity, – stressed in the foreign Ministry. – The decree is fully consistent with international law, which prohibits the recognition of basic documents necessary for the realization of the rights and freedoms of citizens, issued by authorities that do not enjoy international recognition. This is confirmed by international practice and decisions of international judicial bodies, including the international court of justice and the European court of human rights”.
