Pens and Poroshenko discussed the U.S. support in resolving the situation in the Donbass

Vice-President Michael Pence and the head of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko discussed possible assistance to Washington in the negotiations on settling the situation in Donbas. It is reported RIA Novosti with reference to the press service of the White house.


 


The report notes that Michael Pence “expressed U.S. support for full implementation of the Minsk agreements on peace in the East of Ukraine”.


 


The parties also agreed on the need for an immediate ceasefire.


 


The intensification of the conflict in the Donbas began in late January. Ukrainian troops launched in the so-called “creeping approach” to the Donetsk and opened fire on the city with heavy weapons.
