Iran has declared its determination to create a Union with Russia in the middle East
Tehran and Moscow have no differences on the main issues of the middle East agenda, in particular, on the Syrian settlement, said Chairman of the Iranian Parliament.
DAMASCUS, Feb 19 — RIA Novosti, Yevgeny Orel. Tehran seeks to create a strategic Alliance with Moscow in the middle East, said in an interview to TV channel “al-Mayadin”, the Chairman of the Mejlis (Parliament) of Iran Ali Larijani.
He noted that Tehran and Moscow are “no differences” on key issues of the middle East agenda, in particular, on the Syrian settlement.
Iran along with Russia and Turkey is the guarantor of the truce in Syria, where for six years, the ongoing armed internal conflict. It is under the auspices of the three countries in Astana held the first direct talks between the Syrian authorities and the opposition.
Larijani also welcomed the idea of establishing a direct dialogue with Iran, with Arab countries, including with its main competitor in the region — Saudi Arabia. He stressed that such interaction should occur “without any preconditions”.
Saudi Arabia severed diplomatic relations with Iran earlier this year after its diplomatic missions in the country were attacked, provoked by the execution of prominent Shia preacher, Nimr al-Nimr.
