Arthur Parfenchikov
Acting head of Karelia Parfenchikov Arthur intends to deal with the problem of resettlement of dilapidated housing, for which the previous head of the region received a reprimand from the President. On Friday, February 17, reports “Interfax”.
“Most importantly, we should understand that builders have a warranty, and we have the right — and I am sure it is going to do is to check how was the acceptance of these premises that the citizens had so many questions,” said Parfenchikov, speaking at his first press conference as head of the Republic.
He also said that he intends to personally visit the construction site. “Get on the place, see what the problems are,” he promised Parfenchikov.
The previous head of Karelia Alexander Khudilainen, who led the region since 2012, resigned 15 Feb. The acting was appointed Parfenchikov, who previously held the position of head of the Federal service of court bailiffs (FSSP).
One of the key problems in the region, the unresolved issue of resettlement of citizens from emergency housing. In February of last year, the Khudilainen has received a reprimand from the President of Russia Vladimir Putin for the failure of the programme. He acknowledged the criticism is fair and deserved. The khudilainen has also expressed hope that the situation in the coming period of time will significantly improve, and in 2017, regional authorities will fully comply with their obligations.
However, in December 2016, the head of the Ministry of construction Mikhail Men noted that in Karelia resettled only 26 per cent of the total emergency housing. The Minister called the situation critical.
