Mass resignation of heads of the Russian regions is a normal rotation process, said press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov, quoted by RIA Novosti.
Peskov said that the governors had resigned on their own initiative. “They are not first year not first year were led by their regions, they were and are in constant contact with the President, and the President repeatedly met with them repeatedly and very positively responded about the performance. So any reason to look here “undercover” I would not consider appropriate,” Peskov said.
Peskov added that “it’s normal rotation process”.
On Tuesday announced the resignation of the Governor of Ryazan region Oleg Kovalev. Earlier in February, Governor left Viktor Basargin (Perm region), Vyacheslav Nagovitsyn (Buryatia) and Sergey Mitin (Novgorod region).
