The question of the necessity of the law protecting the honor and dignity of the President, including the attacks in the press, requires study. This opinion on Monday, February 13, stated the press-Secretary of Russian President Dmitry Peskov, reports TASS.
“The question to be worked out. Including to study the international experience,” he said. Yet in this debate a certain position, the Kremlin is not, added the spokesman.
Thus the official representative of the Kremlin commented on the words of the speaker of the state Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, who at a meeting with teachers and students of the University “Innopolis” in Kazan has considered it necessary the law on the protection of honor and dignity of the President. He recalled that such laws already exist in several countries, including in the West.
At the same time, the speaker noted that today the issue of urgent adoption of such a document in Russia is not worth it.
In early February, on the American channel Fox News has published an interview with the President of the United States Donald trump, in which television presenter bill O’reilly called Putin a “murderer”. The Kremlin found these words unacceptable and offensive, and stated that they would prefer to hear an apology.
A leading television channel, said that his apology can sound until 2023. “We are very kind and very patient. Put a note in the calendar for the 23rd year and will return to him with this question”, — said Peskov.
