MOSCOW, February 12. /TASS/. Russia, Turkey and Iran are preparing a new meeting between the government and the armed opposition of Syria. This was stated by Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in interview to the program “week” on NTV.
According to him, “there is a new effort” to settle the situation in Syria. “The other day (6 February – approx. TASS) ended the second meeting in Astana, held without Syrian parties, only with the participation of Russia, Turkey and Iran, where he douglaswils the details of the mechanism for monitoring the implementation of the agreement on cease-fire. Such details generally agreed upon, will soon gain strength and will be applied in practice”, – said the Minister.
