Russia is considering the possibility of granting the U.S. a former U.S. intelligence officer Edward Snowden as a so-called “gift” to President Donald Trump. On Friday, February 10, reports channel NBC, citing sources.
According to a senior official, the transfer of Snowden is regarded as one of the ways to “earn location” trump. The intelligence source confirmed the information about the plans of Moscow, adding that he relies on data collected since the inauguration of Republican.
Snowden lawyer Ben wizner said that he knew nothing about such plans. In the Ministry of justice stated that it welcomed whether the return of the former employee of intelligence services.
Snowden himself said that the information channel is confirmed by the fact that he never worked for Russian intelligence. “No country will sell their spy because others will be afraid that their turn will come”, — he wrote in his microblog on Twitter.

February 7, the lawyer of the former employee of special services Anatoly Kucherena told TASS that “until today, Edward Snowden is not charged, any request to the Russian Federation for extradition has been received.” He also expressed hope that trump will make the right decision in relation to his client, namely, “stop the persecution of Snowden”.
January 21, the Kremlin’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, said that “Snowden is not a toy that you can give”. He also stressed that the question of extradition to the U.S. a former officer of the secret intelligence services can only resolve migration service of Russia or President Vladimir Putin.
Snowden, the U.S. government charged with unlawful transfer of information of importance to national security, intentional transmission of intelligence information and theft of state property. He was granted asylum in Russia. At home a former intelligence officer faces up to 30 years in prison.
