Defendants in cases of treason and hackers “Humpty Dumpty” refused to deal with the investigation
Moscow. 10 Feb. INTERFAX.RU — none of the defendants in the so-called case of treason and hackers from the group “Humpty Dumpty” has not yet made a deal with the investigation, although some of them admitted his guilt, reported “Interfax” a source familiar with the situation.
“At the moment, a number of defendants pleaded guilty — who is and who is partially. But none of the defendants in the plea bargain does not go”, — said the Agency interlocutor.
To the question, what is the reason, he replied, “Apparently not ripe yet”.
The source did not rule out further cooperation of the defendants with the investigation and their consent to a special procedure of court with a guilty plea in exchange for a lenient sentence.
“Such a scenario is quite real,” — said the Agency interlocutor.
The case of hackers and a case of treason
On Wednesday, a source familiar with the situation told Interfax that the number of defendants in cases of treason and cases of hackers from the group “Humpty Dumpty” may soon expand, and there may be further detentions.
The spokesman did not disclose details of the investigation, saying only that “we are talking about large, complex and mnogoopyten.”
He noted that the staff of the information security Center of FSB of Russia charged with treason (article 275 of the criminal code), namely the transfer of information constituting a state secret, to representatives of a foreign state, the group of hackers charged with part 3 of article 272 of the criminal code (illegal access to computer information, committed by group of persons on preliminary arrangement).
A group of computer hackers, calling themselves “Humpty Dumpty” or “Anonymous international”, became famous a few years ago. The group specialized in the interception of communications and hacking into accounts of high-ranking officials, large companies and mass-media and sale via the Internet the received data.
Earlier also it became known about arrest of the head of Department of information security Center (Tsib) of the FSB Sergei Mikhailov and his Deputy Dmitry Dokuchaev.
They are charged that, in violation of the oath, passed on confidential information to the Central intelligence Agency (CIA).
The case also arrested the head of the Department of investigation of computer incidents “Kaspersky Lab” Ruslan Stoyanov.
