The interior Ministry is preparing a bill allowing the increase of possible alcohol concentration in a driver’s blood to 0.3 grams or more per liter of blood, according to TASS.
Thus, when the driver check the amount of alcohol should not exceed 0.25 milligrams per litre of exhaled air. Now the liability is incurred, if this figure is 0.16 milligrams and above.
“However, not in all cases the fact that the use of alcoholic intoxication causing substances can be determined by study of exhaled air. For example, if the offender is in strong intoxication, as well as in an unconscious or helpless state”, — stated in the explanatory note to the document.
In the case of the adoption of the document, the maximum allowable level of alcohol in the blood should not exceed 0.5 grams of pure alcohol per liter of blood. When testing via breathalyzer, this figure is 0.25 milligram.
In March 2016 the President of Russia Vladimir Putin has acted with the requirement to toughen the penalties for violation of traffic rules. He noted that over the past decade in Russia, the accident killed 350 thousand people, more than three million were injured. “I think the key task of the education of driving culture”, — Putin said.
