The words of the representatives of Ukraine about possibility to change the Russian status of Crimea and Sevastopol cannot be taken seriously, said state Duma Deputy, former Vice-speaker of the Crimean state Council Konstantin Bakharev. His assessment he shared in an interview with “Tape.ru” on Monday, January 30.
“This is the delusional fantasies of people who long ago lost touch with reality,” — said the MP, commenting on the statement of the former Deputy chief of the General staff of the Armed forces of Ukraine Yuriy dumanskiy about the possibility of recognition by Kiev of the Russian status of Sevastopol for the return of the Crimea.
The MP stressed that Moscow has long stated its position on all such issues: “Russia and its territories are not selling”.
According to Bakharev, lunges, like saying Dumansky, will cease only after the Kiev change of power, “on whose hands the blood of the inhabitants of Donbass” and crimes against Crimeans. “When they go into political oblivion, and they will be replaced by the appropriate people, then it’s time for the very different statements,” the MP concluded.
Earlier on Monday Dumansky said that Kiev needs to “leave” Russia Sevastopol black sea fleet base in order to regain the Peninsula.
On January 17 the Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Hope Savchenko Kiev authorities offered to abandon the Crimea in order to “win” the Donbass. The Kremlin then said that the status of Russian regions is not discussed.
Crimea became part of Russia following the March 2014 referendum in which the majority of respondents supported such a decision. Kiev does not recognize its results. Moscow has repeatedly stated that the discussion of the territorial jurisdiction of the region are closed.
