Proud to the mayor of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk for the first time received an application to conduct the city’s gay pride parade, informs a portal “the island.Info”.
The author of the complaint to the mayor was the Moscow LGBT activist Nikolai Alekseev. According to organizers, the main goal of the event is to attract the attention of society and government to respect the human rights of homosexual people and alleged homophobia.
The participants of the gay parade planned to pass through the center of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk on 10 February. It is expected that the parade will be attended by 300 people.
