The President of the United States, Donald trump intends to speak by phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin this coming weekend, January 28-29. This was reported in the Twitter the correspondent of TV channel NBC Hallie Jackson, citing sources in the American administration.
“President trump and Vladimir Putin are expected to talk by phone this weekend, according to a source in the administration. The first call with the inauguration,” wrote Jackson.
Previous conversation Putin and trump was held on 14 November 2016. They discussed relations between the two countries, agreed in opinion that they are in “extremely poor condition”. The interlocutors spoke about the need to unite efforts in the fight against international terrorism and extremism, and agreed to continue contacts on the phone, and in the future — to hold a personal meeting.
Earlier, the Kremlin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Putin’s phone call and trump agreed. According to him, preparation for the conversation between the two leaders is conducted through the foreign Ministry.
January 21, Peskov said that Putin will call Trump and congratulate him on assuming the post in the coming days.
Trump’s inauguration took place in Washington near the Capitol on January 20.
