The scale of the construction of facilities for the Ministry of defence of the Russian Federation reached the level of the postwar period. This was stated in interview to the newspaper “Kommersant” Deputy defense Minister Timur Ivanov.
According to him, only over the past year in the interests of the military built more than 2.5 thousand buildings with a total area of almost three million square meters. Work is being done from Kaliningrad to the Kuril Islands.
“At the same time built more than two thousand objects both a special and a social purpose. This radar station, waterworks, airports, medical facilities, homes, schools and kindergartens, cadet school, military camps, landfills, marinas. The work is conducted from Kaliningrad to the Kuril Islands”, – said Ivanov.
Among the largest projects, according to him, we can highlight the construction site in Vilyuchinsk. It repaired the berth and onshore engineering infrastructure, intended for nuclear-powered submarines of class “Northwind”.
Besides, in Novorossiysk erected piers for diesel submarines of project 636, and in the southern military district completed the construction of cantonments two missile brigades, equipped with complexes “Iskander-M”. Also, work in the Arctic zone.
