Russia does not recognize the decision of the US administration on the closure of the Russian diplomatic country houses in the States of new York and Maryland, according to the Rambler/news citing TASS.
As stated by the head of the press service of the Russian Embassy in the United States Nikolai Lahonin, this decision is contrary to international law. “We do not recognize the legitimacy of the actions of the American side, contrary to the fundamental norms of international law and the domestic law of the United States, which guarantees protection of property rights”, – he said.
In December, the U.S. government declared persona non grata 35 employees of the Embassy in Washington and Consulate General in San Francisco and closed the Russian diplomatic villas in the States of new York and Maryland. The decision was a response to hacker attacks on American political institutions, which allegedly initiated by Russia. Moscow rejects these accusations.
