From January 1, entered into force the requirement to equip vehicles with an emergency response in case of accidents ERA-GLONASS, Interfax reports.
Terminals ERA-GLONASS 2017 shall be equipped with all new car models, for the first time the type approval procedure on the territory of the Customs Union.
Automakers have long discussed the implementation of the system, in particular the upper and the ultra premium segment. Some concerns stated about reduction of the income of some models on Russian market because of the high cost of certification tests. This certification also will affect the final price of the car, warn the producers.
The system ERA-GLONASS operates in Russia since January 1, 2015, to quickly report accident data to the emergency personnel. In case of accidents mounted in the vehicle terminal automatically determines the location of the vehicle, and then transmits the system information on the exact coordinates, time of the accident and your VIN in a call center of the Ministry of interior or in the system-112.
