The state Duma Committee for security and combating corruption recommended the adoption in the first reading the presidential draft law, which obliges the governors to check the Declaration of income and property by municipal officials. It is reported by TASS on Tuesday, January 24.
The head of the Committee Vasily Piskarev said that the adoption of the document will allow “heads of subjects of Russia to more effectively combat corruption at the local government level”. For voiced to statistics, more than half of defendants in criminal corruption cases against so-called special subjects is precisely what the municipal officials and deputies.
Piskarev said that now data on income, expenses and assets are required to file both Federal and regional civil servants and parliamentarians. “It is true, if such a peremptory norm is applicable at the municipal level”, — concluded the Deputy.
It is expected that the bill will be considered at the meeting of the lower house of Parliament on Friday, January 27.

The package of presidential amendments in the anti-corruption law relating to declarations of municipal officials, entered the Duma in December of last year. In addition to reporting on income it distributes at the level of local government ban on accounts abroad.
