The state Duma has urged the OSCE to demand from Kiev unblock Russian sites

The state Duma adopted an appeal to the OSCE parliamentary Assembly, urging them to demand that the Ukrainian authorities to cancel the decision to block the Russian social networks. This is stated in the decree, published on the website of the lower house of Parliament on Wednesday, may 24.

“In the eyes of the international community the formation of an authoritarian state, based on ideas of national supremacy, xenophobia, ethnic and religious hatred, suppressing dissent, freedom of speech and severely limiting unfettered access to information”, — stated in the document prepared by the international Affairs Committee.

The address also emphasized that Kiev imposed sanctions contradict the Constitution of Ukraine. Russian deputies reminded his colleagues that they “bear the great responsibility for the future of Europe without censorship and totalitarianism.”

On 17 may, the Chairman of the Duma Committee on international Affairs Leonid Slutsky has urged the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) and the European Parliament to condemn Kiev’s decision about blocking the Russian social networks and other Internet services.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has approved an enhanced package of sanctions against Russia on 16 may.
