The ex-Governor of Chelyabinsk region Yurevich arrested in absentia
Moscow. May 24. INTERFAX.RU — Sverdlovsk regional court on Wednesday heard the appeal of the Prosecutor on the decision of Lenin regional court of Ekaterinburg and in absentia arrested the former Governor of Chelyabinsk region Mikhail Yurevich.
“The arrest of two months from the moment of crossing the border or extradition. Appellate representation of the investigation is satisfied,” — said the Agency interlocutor.
As reported, a criminal case was initiated on the fact of receipt by Yurevich, who held in 2012, the office of the Governor of Chelyabinsk region, bribes from Vitaly Teslenko assigned to them by the Minister of health of the region.
According to the investigation, jurewicz regularly received from Teslenko bribes, their total sum amounted to 26 million rubles.
In addition, the former Governor is charged with inciting Oleg Grachev, appointed first Deputy Governor of Chelyabinsk region, to the spread of slander about the activities of the Chairman of the Chelyabinsk regional court.
Jurewicz is currently abroad. On 10 April he was to appear for questioning, but his lawyer said that his client could not arrive to Ekaterinburg for health reasons.
According to Trunova, the protection provided to the investigation documents from the medical institution of London, under which Yurevich is unable because of illness to be under arrest.
5 may Yurevich was declared in the international search. May 12, Leninsky district court of Yekaterinburg dismissed the petition of a consequence for election of a measure of restraint in form of custody and did not arrest him in absentia.
