INTERFAX.RU — the Tver court of Moscow appointed opposition activist Yury Kuliyā punishment in the form of 8 months of a colony-settlements for the use of violence not dangerous to life and health, to the police inconsistent with the authorities of the protest action in the capital on 26 March, the correspondent of “Interfax”.
“Recognize Koulia guilty, sentenced him to 8 months in prison”, — says the decision of judge Mary Kazintsova issued on Thursday.

Earlier Thursday, the state Prosecutor demanded to sentence the activist to two years in a General regime colony. The defense has asked to appoint to it punishment not related to deprivation of liberty.
Coli pleaded guilty, his case is before a special procedure, which involves the imposition of a sentence without examining the evidence in the case.
The oppositionist is accused of application of violence not dangerous to life and health, against a representative of authority in connection with the performance of their duties (paragraph 1 of article 318 of the criminal code).
The maximum penalty under this article is deprivation of liberty for a term up to five years. At the same time punishment of the defendant in the proceedings in a special manner may not exceed two thirds of maximum term or the size of the most strict kind of the punishment provided for the committed crime, that is, in the case of Koulia — 3 years and 4 months.
According to investigators, on 26 March during an unsanctioned rally in Central Moscow Kuli attacked a police officer.
In turn, the lawyer lipcer said that his client was not applied to the police no violence, and simply took that hand which could not cause the victim any pain.
Earlier the Moscow city court upheld the arrest of the defendant until June 4, dismissed the appeal of protection, despite the position of the prosecution, which requested it under house arrest.
About the arrest of four accused in the “case on 26 March” it became known on April 13.

26 March in many cities of Russia held a protest action against corruption, including not coordinated with the authorities. In some cases, they ended with detentions and arrests.
