The negotiations of the President of the United States Donald trump and Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov was aimed at solving specific problems, said the first Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on international Affairs Vladimir Jabbarov. He said this in an interview with “Tape.ru” on Wednesday, may 10.
“This isn’t some formal meeting, because it touched on global issues, on many of them we have common ground, particularly in combating terrorism in Syria. (…) As said Sergei Viktorovich [Lavrov], trump is a very pragmatic man, as well as U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson. They are not engaged in ideological propaganda,” the Senator said.
He noted that from the date of assuming the office of President of the United States trump “has withstood a lot of pressure”.
Lavrov’s talks with trump and Secretary of state, Rex Tillerson took place on may 10 at the White house. Following the meeting, the Russian Minister called the members of the administration of the American President “business people”. He stressed that dialogue was “free from ideologized”.
As RIA Novosti reported, trump also was pleased with the outcome of the meeting.
12 April in Moscow held talks Tillerson and Lavrov. After their foreign Ministers met with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
