The arrival of the President of Moldova Igor Dodon for the celebration of Victory Day in Moscow means a lot to the development of relations between the two Nations, said the speaker of the state Duma Vyacheslav Volodin. His words leads RIA Novosti Wednesday, may 10.
“We hope that with your participation, with the participation of colleagues in the Parliament of Moldova we can do a lot, developing inter-parliamentary cooperation, developing exactly the relationship of peoples and the inter-party level and at the parliamentary level, at the level of our friendship groups. And I think that we will succeed”, — said Volodin at a meeting with the Dodon.
The Moldovan President, who is on visit in Moscow, on may 9 took part in the events dedicated to the 72nd anniversary of the Victory in the great Patriotic war. Dodon called for the parade on red square and laid a wreath at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier near the Kremlin wall.
The military parade was attended by about 10 thousand soldiers and 114 units of ground equipment. This year, the aviation part of the parade was cancelled due to bad weather conditions.
During the Victory day Parade, Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated the Russians on May 9 holiday. In his speech, he noted that there has not been and will not force that could enslave the Russian people.
