In the Parliament of Australia for the first time a politician has fed her baby

Senator Larissa waters became the first female politician pokarmowa her baby in the Australian Parliament.

A member of the green Party fed her two-month daughter, aliyah joy during voting on Tuesday.

The Australian Parliament allowed breastfeeding in the walls last year, but no politician to waters not used this right.

The children were forbidden to be in the courtroom, women who needed to leave to feed the baby, could vote by proxy.

Official permission for breastfeeding was given after a scandal in 2015, when the Minister kaylie O Dweer proposed to Express milk so she can continue to perform all the functions of the Parliament without interruption.

“We need more women and parents in the Parliament. And we need more convenient for the family jobs and affordable child care for all,” wrote waters on his Facebook page.

Breastfeeding is a sensitive issue for many parliaments around the world. In 2016, the Spanish Deputy from the party “Podemos” provoked a strong reaction from taking her child in Parliament and fed him from her breast.

British MPs have repeatedly called for repealing the ban on breastfeeding in Parliament. However, some politicians feared that it might give the tabloids a reason for ridicule.
