Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Kyrgyz counterpart Almazbek Atambayev during a telephone conversation discussed the results of the negotiations on the Syrian issue, which took place may 3-4 in Astana. This was reported on the official Kremlin website on Friday, may 5.
The leaders talked about the urgent issues of bilateral cooperation, the report says. During the exchange of views on international issues were “focus on the positive outcome of the” meeting in Astana, the meeting.

May 4 in Astana hosted the fourth international meeting on Syria. Representatives of the countries-guarantors — Russia, Turkey and Iran signed a Memorandum on the establishment in Syria of four security zones. In such areas it is planned to deliver humanitarian aid and to prohibit on their territory the use of weapons. Assessing the results of the negotiations, the U.S. state Department expressed between Turkey and Russia thanks for the efforts for the achievement of the agreements. The UN has also welcomed the results of the meeting in the first place — plans for the formation of zones of de-escalation.
