The second sign is respiratory rate. “If we take more than 28 breaths per minute, this condition is considered shortness of breath,” explained Shugushev.

The third thing to pay attention to is the indicator of blood oxygen saturation. If it drops to 92-93, you need to call a doctor or an ambulance, the professor said. He noted that the most important thing in the presence of any symptoms resembling an acute respiratory viral infection, “consider them COVID-19 until proven otherwise.”

The doctor also stressed that patients with chronic diseases and patients over 65 years of age, the coronavirus can proceed in an atypical or asymptomatic form.

According to the headquarters on December 6, 32,136 new cases of coronavirus were detected in Russia per day. The total number of people infected since the beginning of the pandemic in the country was 9,833,749.
