Street Classics is a comprehensive program for the development of street culture and sports in our country, which is focused on consolidating regional leaders, creating communities and organizing events in educational and festival formats.
“The culture of street sports is widely developed in our country. Various youth communities implement and promote a healthy lifestyle, involve cool young guys in it. We at Rosmolodezh help with the development of a wide variety of youth communities, this is no exception. With the Street Classics Festival we are launching an annual program. It will include traveling festivals – a showcase of street sports and street culture in general in Russia, a prize – the best will be able to get support for their projects, improve infrastructure in their region. The Street Managers training program will build a community of kids who will organize local events. I myself grew out of 3×3 basketball, started by organizing courtyard basketball championships. By my own example, I understand how important our support is for the guys, “shared Ksenia Razuvaeva.
The structure of the program has a year-round cycle: tools for the formation and development of communities, the organization and conduct of events at the local, regional, federal and international levels. The main directions of the program will be: street art (hip-hop, braying, graffiti, DJing) and action sports (workout, parkour, panna, 3×3 basketball, football freestyle, tricking, freerunning, skateboarding, BMX, kick scooter, streetball, drift, MTV , snowboarding, stunt riding).
On November 26, in the format of a technical opening, the site was visited by the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Oleg Matytsin and the Minister of Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Kovalchuk.
“I want to say a big thank you to the guys, the Streets of Russia organization and the Union of Extreme Sports for the great thing they are doing,” said Oleg Matytsin. – This movement allows young people to feel like they are on the same team. All the guys have bright eyes, they don't need to be motivated, they want to go in for sports. Street sports today have become part of the culture of society and youth. Now it is a real sport, very attractive for young people, millions of boys and girls are engaged in it. This means that we need to create the most comfortable conditions for young people to practice these sports in all regions of Russia. ”
Sergei Kovalchuk noted the need to exchange experience with Russia in the development of street sports. “These guys may be future professional athletes, but they start playing sports in such parks. We will learn from the experience of Russia. We do not yet have such large-scale facilities. I think we can organize joint projects. We have a very good prospect of cooperation and holding such events, including on the territory of the Republic of Belarus, “said Sergei Kovalchuk.
The guys took part in competitions in eight sports: basketball 3×3, snowboarding in the discipline jibbing, skateboarding, BMX flatland and freestyle, football freestyle and panna.
The program of events also includes a large educational block: seminars and workshops from street culture and sports figures, leaders of subcultural communities on the topic of attracting finance to projects, working with partners, promoting projects in the media.
