Head of Rospotrebnadzor Popova: Russia has a high risk of complicating the situation with influenza , warned the country's chief sanitary doctor Anna Popova, Izvestia reports.
The level of immunization coverage is still insufficient, it is 36 percent of the total population. According to the head of Rospotrebnadzor, it is necessary to strive for the level of 60 percent.
Popova noted that at least 200 samples of AH3N2 influenza viruses are detected in Russia every week. In the influenza risk group, she included citizens who have endocrine pathologies, chronic diseases of the lungs and heart.
Vaccination against influenza is carried out in all regions of Russia. According to Rospotrebnadzor, as of November 19, over 49 million people have already been vaccinated.
