Rospotrebnadzor: over the last week in Russia, the incidence of influenza and SARS has decreased
In the 46th week of this year, the incidence of influenza and SARS has decreased in Russia, in addition, the number of regions of the country with an excess of epidemic thresholds has decreased, according to the website of Rospotrebnadzor.
The department noted that the epidemiological thresholds for the incidence of influenza and SARS were exceeded in 49 Russian regions. The excess is recorded more often among adults.
“The incidence of influenza and SARS is mainly due to the circulation of respiratory viruses of non-influenza etiology, while there is an increase in the proportion of influenza viruses in the overall structure of positive findings of respiratory viruses,” the report says.
Flu vaccination is carried out in all regions of Russia. As of November 19, 2021, over 49 million people have already been vaccinated against influenza, Rospotrebnadzor emphasized.
Earlier, Denis Logunov, Deputy Director of the National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology named after N.F. vaccination against COVID-19 and influenza enhances the effectiveness of influenza vaccination.
