Charges of fraud added to the case of the head of the school in the community of Vissarion

The leaders of the “Church of the Last Testament” sect have been clarified the accusation and his associates – Vadim Redkin and Vladimir Vedernikov. This is reported by the defense of the defendants in their Telegram channel.

The accusation under part 1 of Article 239 (“Creation of an NGO that infringes on the personality and rights of citizens”), points “a” and “b” Part 3 of Article 111 (“Intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm”) and paragraph “d” of Part 2 of Article 112 (“Intentional infliction of medium-gravity harm to health”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

In addition, the Investigative Committee of Russia added Vedernikova , the head of the community school, charged under Part 4 of Article 159 (“Especially large fraud”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. According to the investigation, from 2017 to 2019, Vissarion's associate spent the money allocated for the community school on his needs. The damage amounted to five million rubles.

In December 2020, the Novosibirsk court seized the property of the leaders of the Church of the Last Testament sect Sergei Torop, Vadim Redkin and Vladimir Vedernikov. The total amount of the arrested property is estimated at eight million rubles.

Torop's followers from all regions of Russia live in the Vissarion community. They occupy several settlements in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. In the past, the head of the sect worked as a mechanic, and then went to the patrol service. In 1991 he declared himself Vissarion, and then – the reincarnation of Jesus Christ. His followers live in anticipation of the end of the world, the date of which is constantly being postponed.
