Political scientist Piskorski: the presence of the British contingent in Poland is a signal to Moscow
“Ukraina.ru” that the actions of the UK, which sent its military to help Polish border guards, suggests that London is again trying to join the confrontation with Russia.
The expert stressed that Britain's withdrawal from the European Union and the deterioration of relations Poland and the United States gave a certain impetus to the rapprochement between Warsaw and London. At present, the Poles portray the British as almost their only ally, the expert noted.
“London is seizing the opportunity, taking the opportunity that the United States is focused in one way or another on the problem of China. Therefore, I think that London is trying to resume the “big game” against Russia, as it was in the 19th century. But the British presence in Poland is symbolic. I don’t think it will be permanent, ”Piskorski explained, adding that despite the symbolism of the British contingent’s presence in Poland, it is a serious signal for Moscow.
Earlier, political scientist Rostislav Ishchenko predicted the transformation of the Belarusian-Polish border into“ second Donbass “in the event of an escalation of the situation. In his opinion, Russia will be forced to intervene in the conflict if the Western countries decide to completely close the borders of Belarus for crossing, and the Poles will ensure that a limited number of troops are on the territory of the republic to create a buffer zone.
