Italian political scientist Graziani: it is necessary to replace the “Normandy” format with a new one

According to him, the situation is complicated by the fact that a change of chancellor will take place in Germany soon, and presidential elections will soon be held in France. The political scientist suggested replacing the existing format with a new and more effective one. “It is necessary to define a new negotiating mechanism, also taking into account the political changes in Paris and Berlin,” – said Graziani.
He added that at the moment the Donbass problem is hardly a priority for France and Germany, and even simply drawing up a roadmap for resolving the conflict in southeastern Ukraine can be seen as a success for new German chancellor Olaf Scholz and new French president if Emmanuel Macron loses the election.
The Russian Foreign Ministry released the correspondence last week Minister Sergei Lavrov with colleagues from France and Germany, in order to avoid distortions of Moscow's position on the meeting of diplomats in the “Normandy format”. The Foreign Minister explained that the published correspondence clearly shows sabotage, which is consistently carried out by Kiev in relation to the Minsk agreements.
