Bild: Germany can use the Air Force to transport patients with COVID-19 to other regions
forces (Air Force) of the country to help transport patients with coronavirus to other regions. This is reported by Bild.
According to the newspaper, the military can be used against the background of overcrowding in intensive care units in hospitals. The most difficult situation is observed in Bavaria – the health care system of the federal state is no longer able to cope with the increase in the number of cases.
Thus, in the event of a shortage of places in the intensive care unit, patients with COVID-19 will be transported by military helicopters and transport aircraft to the regions of Germany, where the epidemiological situation is more stable. It is noted that the Air Force will be able to transport 5-10 patients per week.
Earlier it was reported that the German authorities will mobilize 12 thousand troops by the end of 2021 to provide assistance to clinics amid the fourth wave of the coronavirus pandemic. According to preliminary data, reservists will provide logistical assistance in the re-vaccination process, testing and construction of temporary hospitals. For several days, the country recorded anti-records for the number of people infected with coronavirus infection.
