Russia prepares to produce billions of doses of coronavirus vaccines

The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade: the Russian Federation will be able to produce 2 billion doses of vaccines against coronavirus in 2022

In 2022 Russia is ready to produce 2 billion doses of vaccines from the coronavirus, said the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov. His statements are quoted by TASS.

“We have a stock, we are already exporting these products and we have the opportunity to reach a production volume of two billion next year,” he said. According to Manturov, more than 100 million vaccine components have already been introduced into civilian circulation. By the end of the year, a total of 300 million doses will be produced.

On November 11, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Vasily Osmakov indicated that the country had reached the production of 150 million sets of coronavirus vaccines per quarter. The current production volumes are sufficient both for our own needs and for export. At the same time, the official argued that “there is no point in further dispersing.” The main production volume falls on Sputnik V and Sputnik Light.

Manturov at the end of October estimated the existing stock of vaccines in Russia. He noted that the drug will last for at least two months.
