Astronauts from the ISS showed the Russians images of the longest lunar eclipse in 500 years

“Right now, together with the inhabitants of the planet, we are observing a partial lunar eclipse. The best view on board the ISS is in the window of our new module “Science” “, – said the author of the photographs, cosmonaut Pyotr Dubrov.
The published photographs show how part of the moon has sunk into the shadow. The eclipse began at 09:03 Moscow time and will last until 15:04. It will be possible to observe it from Earth only in the Far Eastern regions. The largest phase of the eclipse can be seen in the Trans-Baikal Territory, and its end – in Siberia.
In June, the Russians saw the first rare annular eclipse of the Sun in 55 years. The previous similar phenomenon was observed on May 20, 1966.
